Binge Yourself Out: the Impact of Binge Watching on the Subscription of VoD

Pedro will give a talk on the impact of binge watching on the subscription rates of video on demand at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. This paper shows that binge watching reduces the likelihood of VoD subscription because binge watchers consume content at a very fast pace. They exhaust the catalog of interest to them quickly, which reduces their interest in the remaining movies and TV shows, decreasing their interest in purchasing access on a monthly basis.
